A normal Christian life
“He (Jesus) went up into the mountain and called to Him those whom He desired, and they came to Him. He ordained twelve to be with Him, and to be sent out to preach, and to have authority to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons:” Mark 3:13-15
You cannot inherit a Christian identity from your parents, but it must be a personal faith and walk with Jesus.
Jesus’ disciples responded to Jesus’ call and they came to Him and were with Him. Being a Christian is about believing in the Son of God, Jesus, and having a relationship with God. When you read and practice the Bible, you mature in your faith. Every single person is called to have fellowship with God and through faith in Jesus it is possible. In life together with God, it is natural to worship God, to pray to God and to share everything that touches one’s life with Him.
Then every Christian is also called to preach Jesus and to heal the sick and cast out devils in the name of Jesus. This is a normal Christian life for every believer, both for those new and old in the faith.
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when men revile you, and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be very glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in this manner they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”” Matthew 5:10-12
A normal Christian life also means being mocked for your faith, slandered and persecuted. It happened to Jesus and the first Christians, so it is nothing to be surprised over when it happens to us who believe today. We have nothing to worry about but can look up with joy and rejoicing and know that God sees everything.
God calls all people to a life of fellowship and good works together with Him. Have you responded to the calling?
God bless you.
