Freedom

God has given us humans a free will. We can do exactly what we want, but of course there will be consequences of our choices, either positive or negative.

Many say they want to be free. By that they often mean that they want to live how ever they want to, most of the time it’s about living in sin. They want to play with sin, but the fact is that after a while sin will play with them.

‭”Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.”” John 8:34

Jesus has the power both to forgive, lift off the burden of sin and free from the shackles of sin.

The freedom in which man is meant to walk is not about doing anything, but about doing God’s will. God created man and knows what is best for us. Sin is rebellion against God and perversion of God’s thoughts for man. The ways of sin lead to hell.

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father, but is of the world. The world and its desires are passing away, but the one who does the will of God lives forever.” 1 John 2:15-17

When Jesus lives in your heart through faith, God’s love is poured into your heart and you gain new interests. The world’s offers lose their attraction and you want to know and love God who loves you so immensely. All of a sudden you want to do God’s will and Jesus wants to help you live right. God’s will you see in the Bible.

Of course, living that way is not always easy while we are in our physical body and because this world is broken and in rebellion against God. But it is absolutely possible together with Jesus. To have fellowship with God and to do God’s will is a way of life, until one day we get to heaven.

If you are not already saved (rescued, reconciled to God) you can be it now. Turn from the ways of sin that lead away from God and turn to Jesus. Tell Jesus that you want to be forgiven of your sins and that you want to start following Him.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Put your faith and trust in Jesus. He is faithful and wants to help you live the Christian life. Read and practice the Bible.

God bless you.
