A pure conscience

“how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” Hebrews 9:14

A pure conscience cannot be bought with money and it cannot be achieved by doing “good works”. Doing something good does not take away the fact that you previously sinned.

Some try to numb their conscience with alcohol or drugs. Some become self-destructive and punish themselves. Some give up on improving themselves and go deeper into the darkness and the conscience becomes more and more insensitive.

Sin is a spiritual problem and must therefore be solved on the spiritual level. This is why so many people never get a pure conscience, because only God has the solution. Sin is to be in debt to God.

Here comes the good news. A pure conscience can only be obtained as a gift from God’s Son, Jesus. The blood that flowed from Jesus’ body on the cross cleanses the conscience from all sin when you turn from sin and put your faith in Jesus. Then a spiritual work takes place in your inner being. You are reconciled to God and your sin is forgiven. You get a pure conscience by grace, undeservedly, because Jesus took your sin punishment on the cross and rose from the dead on the third day.

Jesus is wonderful and He gives the gift of a pure conscience to every person who comes to Him. You can have a pure conscience today. It is a wonderful and precious gift. You can sleep well at night, wake up and live with a pure conscience. When you believe in Jesus, He moves into your heart and He will help you live the Christian life.

“But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:7‭-‬9

Live close to Jesus and stay away from darkness. If it still goes wrong, talk to Jesus about it and learn from the wrong steps and move on with Jesus. Over time, you mature and become more and more like Jesus in your way of living. Read the Bible and practice what you read.

“My little children, I am writing these things to you, so that you do not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” 1 John 2:1‭-‬2

Take a moment now and tell Jesus that you turn from sin and that you want to receive forgiveness of your sins. Receive a pure conscience by faith and walk on with Jesus.

God bless you.
