Leave the path of sin today

“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23

Every human has sinned against God. It may be a painful realization, but that doesn’t make it any less true. In our event- and emotion-fixated society, what is true is often left behind. We have all sinned against God in thought, word, deed and by not doing what we should have done. It doesn’t help to compare yourself to others and think that others are bigger sinners. Before God, we are all in ourselves, sinners.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

God is holy and righteous and therefore He will punish sin. The wages of sin, big or small sins, many or few sins, is punishment. The punishment is death, eternal spiritual death, where man’s soul and spirit are cast into hell, in eternal separation from God.

When Jesus walked the earth, He spoke of both heaven and hell. He showed the way to heaven and at the same time warned of the torments of hell.

Dear friend, this is life or death, heaven or hell for you. So wake up and stop talking about “partying in hell with your friends” or “you’ve had your hell on earth and therefore deserve heaven”.

There is only one way to heaven and that is Jesus Christ, the Son of God. God’s gift is eternal life through Jesus. A gift that you can only receive by grace. Only forgiven and pardoned sinners can go to heaven. Jesus has paid the ransom for you when He Himself took the punishment for your sins. That’s why He had to die. Jesus died, out of love for you, when He freely gave His life on the cross. It was a high price Jesus paid, so the grace is extremely valuable and precious. On the third day Jesus rose from the dead. He has defeated the devil, hell, sin and death for you. Jesus is Lord!

“Therefore repent and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away,” Acts 3:19

When you realize that you have sinned against God, you can repent and turn away from sin, to God. Instead of seeking false comfort in sin, you can let God be the one to satiate you with His goodness. God created man and knows exactly how we function and He wants to show His care.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Put your heart’s faith and trust in Jesus today. What He did for you through His death and resurrection is enough to reconcile you to God. Through Jesus there is now grace, forgiveness and eternal life to be received. Choose Jesus, heaven and eternal life today.

In your own words, you can tell Jesus that you want to turn away from sin and receive grace and forgiveness for all your sins. Tell Jesus that you choose to believe in Him and that you want to follow Him for the rest of your life.

Jesus is wonderful and faithful. You can trust Him in all situations. Read the Bible and practice what you learn.

God bless you.
