No one escapes the eternity

“The world and its desires are passing away, but the one who does the will of God lives forever.” 1 John 2:17

Life, which most people just take for granted, will one day end. Everyone will at some point eat their last meal, say their last word, get out of bed for the last time and take their last breath.

The world, which was created by God for us to take care of and share in, has for most people taken the place that God should have had in our lives. In our rebellion against God, we have perverted the purpose of life. Unquenchable desires for wealth, pleasure and status have taken over our lives and we have lost judgment. We have made most of it about our rights and the word responsibility and obligations are rarely used words.

On this highway of selfish desires where we drive, precious people’s lives are shattered. Relationships, health and well-being take a beating. One becomes richer at the other’s expense, the joy of harm is intoxicating and the curse of comparison casts a spell on people. But the selfish and rebellious path away from God comes to an end of no return. Both victims and perpetrators who did not do God’s will, will perish. Both proud and those who made it on the career ladder and the discouraged and suffering, will perish. The most amazing and wonderful thing in this life, is nothing compared to heaven. The most terrible and unbearable thing in this life, is nothing compared to hell.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Dear friend, do not get caught up in the zeitgeist and trends of this world. God calls you through His Son, Jesus Christ. Through what Jesus did for all of us humans through His death and resurrection, we can be saved. We can be reconciled to God and receive eternal life. We can enter God’s loving arms and be saved for eternity. We can have the best and most faithful friend there is, God.

Come to your senses and turn from your own ways today. It’s about being forgiven for all your sins. This applies to every single person, regardless of how you feel right now. The question is, have you responded to Jesus’ loving and extended hand to you?

Grab the strong hand of Jesus today and let Him forgive and save you.

“Seek the Lord while He may be found, call you upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” Isaiah 55:6-7

“that if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved, for with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be ashamed. ”…For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord (Jesus) shall be saved.”” Romans 10:9-11, 13

Express your heart’s repentance and faith by telling Jesus that you want to be reconciled to God now.

With Jesus in your heart, you have the most precious and valuable thing a person can own.  Jesus is the rock that can never be moved and on which you can live, die and be safe.

Continue to follow Jesus and read and practice the Bible every day.

God bless you.
